OVERVIEW

 

Greenwood Plants is a wholesale plant nursery, their clients are typically commercial landscaping businesses which provide soft-landscaping for commercial and new-build developments. To continually offer value and to be considered as a supplier of choice for their clients they knew just how important branding would be to not only ‘delight’ their clients but offer opportunity to remain in the subconscious.

Working with the managing director we identified the right opportunities for merchandising. Landscape operatives ‘use’ Greenwood’s plants, shrubs and trees during a hard day’s work, so it seemed a perfect opportunity for Greenwood to provide them with sustenance, hydration and energy. We created the ‘Landscaper’s Friend’ packs which supplied teams with fizzy drinks, gardening gloves and some sugary treats.

Whilst the ‘Landscaper’s Friend’ packs were a hit, we wanted to introduce some merchandise that was reusable and allowed for constant use and exposure. Metal thermal water bottles were the obvious choice, and with Greenwood’s vibrant green colour and strong strapline ‘Growing with you’ it offered opportunity to launch a social media competition, where operatives were encouraged to share images of their bottle using the hashtag #landscapersfriend for a chance to win one of three £50 Amazon gift cards.

Branding and merchandise can be an untraceable source of retention and future business development – but something to be considered regardless of being unable to track the ROI of such marketing outputs. It offers an undeniable impact on your customer engagement and satisfaction whilst offering an opportunity to increase your brand awareness by turning current customers into advocates for your brand.
