Let’s face it… We all get distracted at work at some point in our day. It’s just human nature!
Whether it’s a quick sneak peek at your phone, a bit of goss from your colleague, googling cute cat videos or even just feeling generally stressed.
We have shared some of our favourite resources below, to help you stay on-track, and suggested some techniques to keep you focussed throughout your day!
What is LOFI MUSIC
Lofi music (short for low fidelity) is imperfect, yet aesthetic music/production which has evolved over time. When listening to music whilst working, lyrics and upbeat melodies can often distract rather than help. Lofi is a great option for focused work, as it encourages your brain pick out the differences in the sounds, and therefore helps you to get into a focused mindset.
This YouTube channel has a huge range of Lofi resources, they even have a 24hr livestream, so no need to worry about it stopping and interrupting your focus!
Why do I need to buy a WATER BOTTLE
Everyone knows that we, as humans, need to drink a considerable amount of water each day! But most of us aren’t great at keeping up and remembering to stay hydrated. Drinking regularly can help lubricate joints and eyes, keep skin healthy/glowing, help with digestion, eliminate toxins, and help with concentration and focus throughout the day.
We’ve searched the world wide web and found a selection of water bottles that can help keep you hydrated!
App tracker
Starting with the priciest option, the Hidrate Spark is a great tool for those needing visual reminders throughout the day. The Hidrate Spark gives off a subtle glow when it’s time to drink more water, it can also connect to many health apps, keeping all your data in one place.
Fruit infusion
These bottles are great for people that would like to be healthier but don’t love the taste of water. Just pop in your favourite fruit and go!
Simple
This is a simple but effective way to see how much water you have already had, and how much you need to drink before the day is out. Also, for those who need motivation, timeframes and goals to hit, the level indicators on the bottle, give you clear targets.
How important is a PLANNER?
Many people really benefit from using a planner (aka a ‘personal organiser’) to keep on-track! Find something that you’ll really want to use and keep it with you or somewhere that you’ll see it every day. The one we have suggested below is great as it has a task list and a top priorities list for the most important things to achieve each day. There is also an hourly planner which is great for staying on task and keeping you focused on your work. You can even give yourself an end of day assessment, or perhaps monitor your water intake.
Clean your desk with a DESK AND DRAW ORGANISER
Having a messy workstation can affect your concentration and encourages negative vibes. Mess can draw your focus away from what’s important and gives the feeling that your work isn’t complete. Having organisers can help you to keep your things in order. Tidy space, tidy mind.
